About PayAppCheck

PayAppCheck reads two US construction payment documents: AIA Document G702 (Application and Certificate for Payment) and G703 (Continuation Sheet). It returns reconciled data as Excel, CSV, or JSON, with every total checked to tie. Any mismatch is flagged with the line and the amount that is wrong.

General contractors, owners, lenders, and construction bookkeepers receive stacks of subcontractor pay applications every month. Each one has to be extracted and verified by hand. Plenty of tools let subcontractors create and submit pay apps. Almost nothing self-serve exists for the receiving end: extract and check. That's the gap PayAppCheck fills.

Extraction is only the first step. A pay application is full of redundant arithmetic. Each line's Column G must equal D + E + F. The column totals must carry forward to Line 4 of the certificate, and retainage must reconcile across both forms. That redundancy makes the document check itself. We use it to catch a single mis-read digit and name the line it sits on, instead of passing it through.

A human always reviews and confirms the figures before anything is final. PayAppCheck never posts numbers on its own. It is a calculation and review aid. It is not legal, tax, accounting, or engineering advice.

PayAppCheck is built and run by Ludvig Bergerud, an independent software developer in Sweden, registered as a sole trader (enskild firma). It is built for the US construction-finance market. The product is self-serve: no sales calls, no demos. You sign up and run your own pay app through it.
